Macclesfield Parish vs Northgate
Saturday 17th February 10.30am
Location: Windmill Park, Windmill Street, Macclesfield, SL11 7LS
Two weeks after suffering a close 1-0 defeat at home to Poynton, Northgate are looking to bounce back with their second consecutive away win. Travelling to Macclesfield is the joint longest journey of the season, and after two late postponements, Macc Parish have still not yet visited the Tangerine Fortress so this is the first meeting in history between these two sides.
Having not entered the Charity Cup, and squad depth and weather playing havoc with their fixture lists, the hosts have only played five matches all season. Despite not taking a hammering in any of them, they have lost all five. Clark will keen to continue their miserable run, but will also be wary of the potential they have to cause an upset having played there twice with former club Kay Street last season. They are certainly no pushovers.
Clark has another strong squad to select from with 14 set to make the trip. Sharrock will take up his place between the sticks again after a week on the wing last time out, and has all regular defensive options available ahead of him. Morgan and Jones are both absent in the middle, but Elkington comes back in for his first appearance since November and Heathcote replaces Matt Ward. There are also returns for Theo Thomas and Mark Roberts, whilst Lawrie Campbell will face a late fitness test to ascertain his place in the team.
